TEPHINET is a global professional network of field epidemiology training programs, comprising 71 member Field Epidemiology Training Programs (FETPs) in more than 100 countries.
TEPHINET and Applied Epi work closely together to meet the needs of applied epidemiologists worldwide. In January 2020, TEPHINET provided a grant to accelerate development of the Epidemiologist R Handbook, and a second grant in August 2021 to facilitate translations and development of accompanying R training materials.
Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders) is an international humanitarian medical non-governmental organization best known for its projects in conflict zones and in countries affected by endemic diseases. Their teams include epidemiologists and data managers alongside clinicians and other personnel.
MSF supported the development of the Epidemiologist R Handbook through field testing and review. Since November 2021 MSF’s Operational Centre Amsterdam and Applied Epi have been collaborating to build R tools and training curriculum specific to field epidemiologists.
The Global Outbreak Alert and Response Network is a WHO-affiliated network of institutions which respond to acute public health emergencies around the world. Applied Epi has trained WHO staff and has been a member of GOARN since July 2022.
